The Brooklin town wharf ~ a working wharf where lobsterfolk, scallop divers, and clam diggers launch their dinghies and head out for the day’s harvest. Lobstering is a way of life for many in this small community, and lobster boats intermingle with recreational water craft at this accessible launch point. Across from the wharf is Harbor Island – at low tide it seems that you could almost walk across the sand bar to the island; at high tide the sand bar completely disappears, as does the little beach across the way.
There is a lovely beach just around the bend from the wharf; at low tide it resembles a moonscape with boulders scattered here and there. There is a generous amount of parking available although it can fill up quickly depending on the weather. It’s a lovely spot to sit and relax and enjoy the view.
