Originally a post office, the main building was moved to its current location and has been a cafe off and on over the years. It was recently re-opened by the Carsons, who also own and run the Maine Hideaway Guest House just a few doors down from the cafe. Like the Brooklin General Store, the newly refurbished space is more than just a spot to grab breakfast or lunch a couple of days a week – it can also be used as a pop-up or for private events. Pizza and Jeff’s famous (locally, at least) brisket is also available on occasion. Word has spread quickly, and it’s not uncommon to have to wait for one of the handful of tables (it’s worth the wait!). Lighter to-go items are available at the side window.
